I receive a lot of emails from graduates regarding how to find their first job. If you have looked deep into this group you will find posts about CV templates, information to give to really SELL yourself and your university projects. I also talk about momentum and keep developing…… Lastly, I also talk about 3 factors:
TALENT
HARD WORK
LUCK
TALENT is the skill / gift you have, or you have put in the HARD WORK to grow and develop over the past 3 – 4 years at university. Your portfolio, your CV and how you SELL yourself should demonstrate this ability. Your TALENT should never get stagnate.
HARD WORK is what has pushed your TALENT to the level it is at, or had to do to develop your TALENT to be as good as it is.
LUCK ……. This is when all your TALENT and all your HARD WORK has meant that your CV has landed on the right desk at the right time and that door has opened just as your name is mention by someone else. You make your own LUCK by making contacts and hustling everyday to find out about new roles, opportunities and companies.
In truth you need ALL 3 in equal measure….. WORK HARD to grow your TALENT to make your own LUCK!
