If I asked you to describe a DOOR on your project what would you say?

If you talk about finishes, handle styles, architraves and glass inset designs then that’s fine for visuals…..

But if you start talking about:
Fire rating
Standard door sizes and thicknesses
Intumescent smoke seals
Vision panel beading detail i.e. hockey stick style
Pivot or over head door closer (FR)
Acoustic rating / drop door closers
Specific ironmongery packs
Locking mechanisms
Structural openings
Standard BR Door Signage requirements

…….and above all reference a comprehensive door schedule in your project with door numbers cross referencing back to a partition setting out plan, typical door details etc then your industry ready!

If you’ve just finished uni, it’s time to start showing your value…. If you still at uni, get into the habit now and get ahead of the curve!!
