In yr CV this is one of the most important sections, moreso than your list of projects or ambitions…..why?

1. tells me what IT skills you have that I can put to good use straight away on a project
2.tells me what Design Management skills you have that I can put to good use straight away on a project
3.tells me what Client / Presentation / Meeting skills you have that I can put to good use straight away on a project
4. tells me what stages of a project you can work from and develop to that you have that I can put to good use straight away on a project
5. tells me what level of real world design understanding that you have that I can put to good use straight away on a project

So the common thread ofcourse is the “skills you have that the employer can put to good use straight away on a project”…..But you have to have experience / demonstrate you can/have down the the skills too!

Think beyond the list of IT applications and add more to show your value. Graduate roles are always hard to fill because the employer knows they have to invest a set period of time to get you up to speed. (

That’s the difference between a graduate and a junior designer role. Think how much you will stand out from the crowd with demonstrating real world experience in your college project that you can add value to a project straight away.

I will post a follow up outlining everything you can demonstrate re design management etc shortly….
