What is your selling point? Think about it….. If your the go to person, what is that 1 thing that puts you head and shoulders above others? Is it 1 thing? Is it more?

The reality is that not everyone is creative, nor can everyone be the creative hub in an office…. trust me 6 people all with a totally different concept isn’t going to work!!!

In your folio and in your interviews this element needs to shine and make you standout.

Are you:

Exceptional at CAD? can you produce a drawing package at speed, consistent, cross referenced and fill in th blanks in the concept to work?

Are you a problem solver? Can you see issues in the build stage or a detail that makes sense now but in reality with cause and issue later on?

Are you exceptional with colour ways, textures and fabrics and can produce a scheme with TIERING that works across all design styles?

Can you sell sell sell? Are you a great communicator verbally, really sell your concepts, really explain the designa nd buildability in your drawings to contractors and when sketching too when brain storming? Can you explain a detail change to a multi language site team under pressure, to budget with minimal impact on the install programme?

Think about it now in your final year, find your weak spots and improve on them now to make yourself invaluable to your first employer…..
