Some of you are finishing off your FMP or putting it on display. Outside of your UNI presentation, make sure you have a 3-5 minute pitch that you can give to anyone who views your exhibition …. “get your SHIT together”
STUFF that isn’t pretty but is the foundation of real world design to demonstrate re ergonomics, building regards, install and build process, fire regs and principles of safety, DDA compliance etc
HOW your design started and developed to the end product as a design evolution noting research, design development to show your working progress
ISSUES you encountered and overcame i.e. SOARS to demonstrate your problem solving mindset
TIME management and design management so discuss how you managed both by referencing examples re Gant charts, DTMs, cross referencing and value engineering to save time, drawing issue sheets to note progress, etc….
A well rehearsed pitch will really make you stand out and demonstrate your professionalism because you never know who you are talking too or who is overhearing. This a great opportunity to sell your self….. so get your SHIT together!
